Student, faculty, and staff gain entry to buildings and rooms across all electronically controlled Miami campus doors using their Miami ID card or a mobile app.
Miami University provides centralized tools and support for reserving classrooms, meeting spaces, and event venues across campus. This service helps ensure appropriate use of campus spaces while supporting the logistical needs of classes, meetings, and events—from small group gatherings to large conferences. 25Live is Miami's enterprise room scheduling platform although some departments use google calendar resources or other tools for specific rooms under their control.
Miami University provides approximately 90 channels of entertainment, information, and educational television programming via streaming and a more traditional cable television in very limited situations. All students living in residence halls have automatic access to the Miami University - personal streaming service. The Miami University Community streaming service is available in select common areas or administrative conference rooms, or individual faculty or staff offices. Traditional cable television service still available in a limited number of buildings (Marcum conference center and some athletic facilities)
Miami University’s Digital Signage service provides departments and units with the ability to display dynamic, real-time content across campus using centrally supported digital displays. These signs are ideal for sharing announcements, event promotions, dining menus, and other timely information in high-traffic areas. The Poppulo (formerly Four Winds Interactive) platform provides content content delivery to the approximately 230 digital signs across campus.
IT Services installs video cameras and cabling infrastructure and manages storage of video data. Physical Facilities department is responsible for approval for any video camera installed on campus and will direct IT with approved installations.
Miami University’s Finance and Business Services IT (FBSIT) provides hardware, software, and support for campus departments that need to accept payments for goods, services, or events through CBORD's Mobile Reader App. Our Bookstore and Dining Vendors provide hardware, software, and support for the Point-of-Sale (POS) systems they use at their respective locations.
This service helps ensure secure and efficient transactions while complying with university financial and data security standards.
