Guidelines

MUprint Features

  • Students, faculty, staff, and visitors can use MUprint to print black-and-white or color documents
  • Release stations are conveniently located in labs and the libraries on all Miami campuses
  • Simply swipe your Miami ID (or MUIaa card) to release and pay for your document
    • The cost for printing will be deducted from your MUlaa account or employee payroll
    • A visitor can purchase a MUIaa card from the VTS machine
  • Cost per printed document (impression):
    • Black-and-white printing, $0.10
    • Color printing, $0.25
  • MUprint now includes a follow-me feature
    • Send your job to a virtual printer, and then use any release station to print your job
    • Your job will be held in the virtual print queue for 24 hours
  • When printing, select MUprint B&W Only or MUprint Color and B&W as your print queue option
    • Jobs sent to the MUprint B&W Only queue can be printed from any release station
    • Jobs sent to the MUprint Color and B&W queue can only be released at a color release station
  • Google Cloud Print is a component of MUprint that allows you the convenience of printing from off-campus
    • Your job will be held in the print queue for 24 hours, giving you ample time to find a release station on campus to print your job

Print from an on-campus lab computer

  1. Using any application, access the printing feature
  2. Select MUprint B&W Only or MUprint Color and B&W as your print queue option
  3. Configure other print settings, as needed
  4. Click Print
  5. You can now release your print: See Release a print job, below
    • Your job will be held in your selected MUprint queue for 24 hours

 

Print from off-campus using Google Cloud Print

  • Google Cloud Print only accepts common file types, such as .docx, .xlsx, and .pdf
  • If Google Cloud Print cannot convert the file, try saving your file in a .pdf format from within the application
  1. In your browser, go to google.com/cloudprint
    • If prompted to log in, use your Miami credentials (your UniqueID and MUnet password)
  2. Click the Print button, and choose Upload File to Print
  3. Click the link Select a file from my computer
  4. Select the file you want to print, and click the Open button
  5. Select MUprint B&W Only or MUprint Color and B&W as your print queue option
  6. Configure other print settings, as needed
  7. Click Print
  8. You can now release your print
    • Your job will be held in your selected MUprint queue for 24 hours

Release a print job

  1. Locate an appropriate release station 
    • Jobs sent to the MUprint B&W Only queue can be printed from any release station
    • Jobs sent to the MUprint Color and B&W queue can be released only at a color release station
  2. Swipe your Miami ID or use your Miami credentials (your UniqueID and MUnet password) to log in
    • If you are a visitor, swipe your MUlaa card that you purchased from the VTS machine
  3. Select the job you want to print
    • If you do not see the job you want to print, make sure you are at an appropriate release station
  4. Click Print
