  • One of the primary advantages of using a smartphone is that it is tied to the University phone directory, so you can use your Miami phone number for University activities
    • Miami's telephone system supports two softphone applications: Jabber and Webex

Webex

  • Webex Desktop can be used by
    • Anyone who has a single-line University desk phone
      • Note: Webex Teams has the capability for eight inbound lines. However, only line 1 can be used for outbound calling
    • Anyone who uses Webex conferencing
    • Anyone who needs chat features to converse with other groups and individual students, faculty, and staff
       
  • Webex Smartphone can be used by
    • Anyone who has a single-line University desk phone
    • Anyone who uses Webex conferencing
    • Anyone who needs chat features to converse with other groups and individual students, faculty, and staff
