Problem
How do I configure an Android device for secure access to MiamiOH-Secure?
Resolution
From your home screen, tap
Settings
Select
Network & Internet
Be sure to enable (toggle on) Wi-Fi
Select
Wi-Fi
Tap and hold all the non MiamiOH-Secure networks, and select
Forget
Removing these MiamiOH networks from your remembered networks ensures that your device will stay connected to MiamiOH-Secure
A network that does not offer
Forget
as an option is already forgotten
You may need to forget MiamiOH-Secure if you do not have the latest Cert installed
Once you've forgotten all non MiamiOH-Secure networks, select
MiamiOH-Secure
Scroll down the list to configure these settings:
Set
EAP method
to
PEAP
Set
Phase 2 authentication
(if applicable) to
MSCHAPv2
Set CA Certificate as Trust on First use if available, older Androids may need to use the Do Not Validate Option, you may see a prompt asking you to trust the cert on the screen.
Android 7.0 (Nougat) users: Change the certificate to
Don't Validate
Android 7.1 and 8.0 (Oreo) users: Change the certificate to
Do Not Validate
Android 10 and above users: Change the certificate to
Don't Validate
Some Android-based devices may require the user to select
Use System Certificates
before being able to select
Do Not Verify
Some older Android-based devices may require the user to select
Use System Certificates
before being able to select
Do Not Verify
Android 13 and above should require the Trust on First use option
If a domain is required, use
radius.miamioh.edu
Enter your Miami UniqueID for
Identity
If your device has an
Anonymous identity
field use your UniqueID
Enter your MUnet password for
Password
You do not need to adjust any settings under the advanced section
Tap
Connect
to save your configuration settings and connect to the network
If you have previously failed at connecting you may have to wait for three minutes before a successful attempt will work
Notes
Re-enter your credentials when you change your MUnet password
