Find your UniqueID

Use the UniqueID formula

  • Your Miami UniqueID is generated using data from Human Resources or Registrar files. It generally consists of the first six characters of your last name, your first initial, and your middle initial
    • Example: If your name were Joan Q. Public, your Miami UniqueID would be publicjq
  • In some cases, your UniqueID will not follow the formula, if the same formula was already used to create a UniqueID for someone with a similar name. In that case, use one of the following methods to determine your UniqueID

Use RapidIdentity

  1. Go to Miami's RapidIdentity login
  2. Select the Forgot Username (UniqueID)? link below the Username entry
  3. Enter the personal email address that was used to apply to Miami
    • For students, this will be the personal email address that you received Miami student confirmation information
    • For employees, this will be the personal email address that you received Miami employment confirmation information
  4. Check the email provided for username/UniqueID information

Use the Miami Directory

  • If you have requested to be hidden in the directory, this option will not work for you
  • Incoming students are not listed in the directory until August 1
  1. Go to the Miami Directory
  2. In the Name field, enter your name as given to the Registrar, Academic Personnel, or Department of Human Resources
  3. Select your name from the directory results
  4. Click the + icon next to your name to reveal your UniqueID line

Find your Default MUnet password

  • On Sept 3rd 2025, the use of default passwords has been discontinued for standard accounts. Please refer to the "Set a MUnet password on a new account" section below for information about setting a password

Set a MUnet password on a new account

  • When you log in to your Miami account for the first time, you must set a password in our password management system. This is accomplished by entering a claim code that is provided to each account at creation in our password management system. The claim code is emailed to the personal email address on file when the account is provisioned
  • To set a password, follow the UniqueID, MUnet Password / Claim my Miami account and set MUnet password procedure
