Canvas / Submitted grades do not appear as letter-grades

Issue

I submitted letter-grades for an assignment in Canvas, but only the number appears
My Gradebook export does not show letter-grades

Enable a grading scheme using this Canvas Guide article, which offers instructions on using a grading scheme
