- Connecting your personal Wi-Fi device to MiamiOH-MyDevices
- Connecting your streaming device to the network
- Connecting your Smart TV for use on the Miami Network

Scope
- The MiamiOH-MyDevices service provides a personal network for connectivity between your Wi-Fi-connected devices. In order to establish your personal Wi-Fi MyDevices network, you must first register the network address for each device at the MyDevices registration portal
- MyDevices network services offer the following benefits:
- Your own personal network and password
- Simplicity of connection type allows for compatibility with a vast range of Wi-Fi devices
- Wireless Private Network (WPN) allows you to access all your devices between each other

Instructions
Do this before attempting the steps below. Disable random MAC / Private Browsing first: KB article
- Access the MyDevices Registration Portal and register your personal devices
- Connect to https://miamioh.campuswifi.net
- Review the Responsible Use of University Computing Resources policy and check the I agree button
- Click the Continue button
- Log in using your Miami credentials:
- <UniqueID>@MiamiOH.edu
- MUnet password
- Click on the Generate Password button
- Your personal MyDevices password will be generated. This is the password you will enter for each of your devices for connection to the MyDevices network
- The password is 14 characters long and consists of upper- and lower-case letters, as well as numbers
- The QR code can be used to add devices such as smartphones and tablets
- Register the wireless medium access control (MAC) address for each device that you want in your personal MyDevices network
- The MAC address is printed on most Internet-connectable devices or can be found in the device’s menu under network information. For more information on finding your MAC address, see the following articles:
- Once all of your devices are registered, you will be able to connect to them by selecting the MiamiOH-MyDevices network and using the password noted in the Generate Password step above
Notes
- If you anticipate or experience a disability-related barrier while registering, submit a ticket on Request for MyDevices Support or visit the Tech Support Lounge in Armstrong Student Center
- Wireless printers: Installation of an individual wireless printer that generate their own wi-fi network is not allowed. However, printers can be connected to the MiamiOH-MyDevices network. The printer's MAC address should be entered in the MyDevices portal as outlined above. Then connect the printer to the MiamiOH-MyDevices network using the password as outlined above. Alternatively, use a Bluetooth or USB connection. Contact the manufacturer of your printer for expert assistance based on your printer model
