Problem
- How do I create a video in Canvas Studio?
- How I do I record my screen in Canvas Studio?
- How do I edit a video in Canvas Studio?
Resolution
Access Studio
Canvas Studio can be accessed by all users in two ways*:
- Via the Canvas Studio link in the main Canvas Global Navigation
- Best for creating longer videos, screen-sharing videos, or videos you plan to edit
- Via the Studio icon in the Rich Content Editor (RCE)
- Best for quick videos or when you must provide a video response to a quiz question
*Instructors can also access Studio directly in their courses by clicking the Studio link in their course navigation
Record a Webcam Video
- On Chrome and Edge browsers, you can create a camera recording using the Studio Capture link:
- On Safari and Firefox browsers, you can create a camera recording using the Webcam Capture link:
Record a Screen Capture Video
- Due to an integrated screen capture option available on Chrome and Edge browsers, you can also record a screen capture video using the Screen Capture link, though you also have the option to install and use the Screencast-o-Matic app for screen recording:
- To record a screen capture video on a Chromebook, click Record and then Studio Capture in Studio:
Edit Your Video
Once you've completed recording your video, you can use the Studio Media Editor to make edits, update video details, and/or add a caption file or edit auto-captions.**
**Quality captioning is required for videos added to courses for instructional purposes to ensure equal access to all content
