Resolution
To share video or audio added to Canvas Studio, refer to the Canvas Guide for sharing media in Studio or follow this procedure:
- Click the Studio link from the Canvas Global Navigation menu on the left side
- Locate the media in My Library and click the Options menu (the three vertical dots) next to the name
- In the Share Media pop-up menu, select the appropriate media access you're providing from the Permission"drop-down menu: Can View or Can Edit
- Note: Unless you're planning to make a user the new owner of the Studio media, best practices recommend sharing with Can View access only. Users with Can Edit access can edit details, delete media, and create or manage quizzes for the specific video file, which will apply to all users. As a result, Can Edit access should be limited to media owners. Users with Can View access can view, copy, and share the media, but cannot edit or delete the original upload
- Once you've set access, type the user name, email, or Unique ID in the Share With field to search, and then select the correct user from the options
- Click Done once all users have been added
Access Shared Media
If a video has been shared with you in Studio, you will receive an email from Studio Support. To access your video:
- Click the Studio link from the Canvas Global Navigation menu on the left side
- Click the "Shared Library" drop-down menu to view your shared media and/or collections
- The video is now available to add to a Canvas course or submit for an assignment
