Resolution

  1. Connect your Android device to MU-Wireless
  2. On your Android device, go to Google's Play Store
  3. Search for and select the Cisco Jabber app
  4. Click Install
  5. When installation is complete, click Open
  6. Review the 911 warning and click Accept to accept the EULA
  7. Users of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and later: Tap Change Settings and ignore battery optimization to receive calls and messages
    • Important note: If Jabber is left idle on Android 6.0 or later, the network connection to Cisco Jabber will be disabled and you will not receive calls or messages
  8. Scroll through the new features and click Get Started
  9. Review prompts to ensure you know what access you are giving to the Jabber app:
    • Optional: Click Allow to give Jabber access to your contacts
    1. Click Allow to give Jabber access to the microphone
    2. Click Allow to give Jabber access to make and manage phone calls
    3. Click Allow to give Jabber access to photos, media and files
    4. Power saving? Select Allow to ensure the Jabber APP can run in the background.
  10. In the initial login screen for first-time setup, enter your UniqueID@MiamiOH.edu, and then click Continue
  11. Log in using your UniqueID and your MUnet password
    • Your Jabber Notifications page should appear
  12. If prompted, go to Settings to update your voicemail username and password — usually your UniqueID and MUnet password
  13. Optional: If provided, follow the prompts to scan your fingerprint and configure Fingerprint Authentication to make logging in quicker
  14. When you are signed in through the app, click the circle with your initials in the upper-left corner to bring up your settings
