Configure my device to use eduroam for Wi-Fi connection / Wireless Network

Problem

  • How do I configure my laptop or other device to use eduroam?

Cause

  • eduroam allows you to connect to wireless (Wi-Fi) on any campus and location that offers it
  • We recommend connecting to eduroam on any Miami campus before traveling to test your connection prior to your travels

Resolution

For most laptops and devices

  1. Open your network preferences or wireless settings
  2. Select eduroam from the list of available networks
  3. Log in using your full MiamiOH email address (UniqueID@MiamiOH.edu) as the user name and your MUnet password
  4. If you need more detailed configuration settings, use the following settings:
    • Security: WPA2 Enterprise / 802.1xEAP
    • EAP method: PEAP
    • Phase Authentication: MSCHAPV2
    • Download CA certificate, if required by your device
    • Identity (username): your full MiamiOH email address (UniqueID@MiamiOH.edu)
      • (If Applicable) Anonymous Identity: UniqueID@MiamiOH.edu or anonymous@MiamiOH.edu
    • Password: your MUnet password
