Objective

• To provide instruction to students, faculty, and staff on installing Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) on a personal device

Scope

• Install Office on as many as five PCs or Macs, five tablets, and five smartphones

User

• Microsoft 365 subscription is valid only for current Students, Grad Students, Faculty, and Staff

Resolution

For Windows or Mac computers:

1. Visit Miami's Microsoft portal to get Office for Mac or PC
2. Log in with your Miami email address and MUnet password
3. Click the Install Office button
   • By default, the installer will download to your Downloads folder
4. Double-click the installer file downloaded to complete the installation
   • Follow all prompts to complete the install

For iOS or Android mobile devices

• Follow these instructions to install Microsoft 365 on your mobile device

Notes

• Miami University's license does not include Office for the Web, OneDrive, or Microsoft Teams
  • Personal OneDrive accounts can be used
  • Microsoft Teams can be used with another organization
• Not all Chromebooks are capable of running the Android version of Office
