  • All current University students are required to enroll in Duo, the system-wide, two-factor authentication security application used at Miami University
  • Parents of current Miami University students are not required to enroll in Duo and can continue to access their Parent/Family account 


  • The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of your student's financial and academic records. FERPA and other federal laws prevent Miami from releasing student information to parents or any other individuals unless authorized by the student
  • Do not use your student's Miami credentials (UniqueID and MUnet password) to log in to the University system
    • ​​​​​If you use your student's Miami credentials to log in, you will be prompted to provide second-factor authentication through Duo
    • Only the account holder — your student — can approve the request for authentication through Duo
  • You must have a Parent/Family account and your student's permission to access any student record
