Remove a user from a course / Canvas

Problem

  • How do I remove a user from a Canvas course?

Resolution

  • Do not remove users enrolled via Banner from your course(s)
    • Students should drop courses using the process outlined by the Registrar's office. If web registration has closed, faculty can drop a student using the Photo Roster in myMiami. If a student still appears on your Photo Roster or Canvas roster after officially dropping a course, contact the Registrar's office at 513-529-8703 or Registrar@miamioh.edu. Note that it may take up to 24 hours for Canvas to reflect registration changes:
    • If you are taking over a rostered course from another instructor, ensure you have been added as the instructor of record in Banner by contacting your department admin. The other instructor should be removed once the change is made in Banner. It may take 24 hours for Canvas to reflect the change
    • To remove vendor support, TAs, Guest Lecturers, etc., from a Canvas course, follow the instructions to remove an enrollment in the Canvas Instructor Guides
