Resolve display of course modules for students / Canvas

Problem

• Why can't students see modules in a Canvas course?
• Why can't students access assignments or content in modules in a Canvas course?

Resolution

Student

• ​​The module may be locked until a given date. Refer to the Canvas Student Guide for more information on how to view module lock dates in Canvas
  • If you need to access the content before the lock date, contact your instructor
• There may be module prerequisites you must complete first before you can access a module or the remaining content. Review the Canvas Student Guide for how to view and complete module prerequisites

Instructor

• Unpublished modules will not show for students. Refer to the Canvas Instructor Guide for how to publish or unpublish a Canvas module
  • Individual assignments, quizzes, discussions, etc., within modules must also be published. Review the Canvas Instructor Guide for adding content items to modules
    • Note that students cannot access published assignments within an unpublished module. The module and the associated content must be published
• The module may be locked until a given date. Refer to the Canvas Instructor Guide for more information on setting and editing lock dates
• There may be module prerequisites that haven't been met. Review the Canvas Instructor Guide for setting and editing module prerequisites
