Canvas / Edit the dates and access details of an assignment

Objective

To provide links to the Canvas Guide article on editing the date details of an assignment when
- You want to add dates to an assignment in Canvas
- You want to edit dates on a Canvas assignment
- You want to add an available date to an assignment
- You want to add specific dates to an assignment for an individual student or section

Assignment access can be managed using the Assign To feature in Canvas. You can add a due date, a date when the assignment becomes available for students to submit, and a date for when students can no longer submit the assignment (availability dates)

To add additional access for an individual student or different access dates by section, use the + Add button in the Assign To feature to create more than one entry. For example, if you are extending access for just one student, the original "Everyone" entry will change to "Everyone Else" when you add the additional entry, ensuring the assignment access and submissions remain for the rest of the students
