Troubleshoot classroom computer and teaching station issues / ClassTech

Problem

  • The computer won't boot properly and gets hung up on the message Please wait for group policy
  • There is a shortage in the wiring in the computer that affects the screen — the sound in the computer has stopped completely
  • The classroom computer does not power on or function correctly
  • I need to reset the teachers station
  • My monitors are not working
  • Audio playback from the classroom computer is choppy
  • The mouse is missing or isn't working on my workstation
  • I am unable to access an app on the classroom computer
  • I have received an error in iBooks on a classroom computer

Resolution

  1. Restart the workstation
    • On a Mac, select the Apple menu and select Restart...
    • On a PC, select the Windows button, then click on the arrow next to Shut Down and select Restart
  2. Power on the teacher's station computer inside the cabinet
    • You may need to hold in the power button to shut it off, wait ten seconds, then press the power button again to start it back up
  3. Crestron panel will prompt the user to press system power to begin
  4. Do not touch any buttons at this time (or it may require a second reboot!)
  5. You can tap the glass to wake up the touch panel, just don't press buttons
  6. Crestron panel will display the message: Please wait while projector powers down
  7. Crestron panel prompt the user to press Power to begin
  8. Press Start and select a source for display
