  • How do I add the Knowledge Base search engine to Chrome?
  • How do I use Google Search to search the Knowledge Base?

Environment

Rationale

  • You can add the KB search engine to Chrome and use Google Search to search the Knowledge Base

Resolution

Add the KB search engine to Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome
  2. At the top-right, click the More Settings icon (three vertical dots)
  3. From the drop-down, select Settings
  4. In the Search engine section, click Manage search engines
  5. Under Other search engines, click the Add button
  6. In the Add search engine window, enter the following information in the appropriate field:
    • (Search engine) KnowIT
    • (Keyword) kb
    • (URL with %s in place of query) https://miamioh.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/Shared/Search/?c=kb&s=%s
  7. Click the Add button

Use Google Search to search the KB

  1. In your Chrome address bar, enter kb<space> to prompt the KB search engine
    • In the address bar, the Google icon will be replaced with the Search KnowIT prompt
  2. Enter your search term in the address bar
  3. Review the results — which will be returned in a KB Search window — and select the appropriate entry
