Resolution

Ensure that IMAP is enabled

  1. Using a computer (not a mobile device), log in to your Miami email account with your Miami UniqueID and password
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Forwarding and POP/IMAP
  4. Select Enable IMAP, and then select Save Changes


Configure your Android 6.0 device for Miami email

  1. On your Android device, open the Settings application
  2. Scroll down and tap Accounts
  3. Tap Add account
  4. From the listed social network icons, select the Google icon
  5. If prompted, enter your device PIN
  6. When prompted, enter your Miami email address (example, PublicJQ@MiamiOH.edu)
  7. Tap Next
  8. ​​​The next screen will display the following message: Your Google Account is managed by miamioh.edu. In a moment, you'll be sent there to finish signing in. By signing in, you agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  9. Tap Accept
  10. You will be redirected to the MUnet Login Page
  11. Enter your Miami UniqueID and MUnet password, and tap Login
    • You may be presented with additional steps giving you the option to join Google+, opt in to Google Play communications, or set up credit card purchase options — you can choose to set these up or tap Not now
  12. After completing these steps, you should see the following message: Account sign-in successful
  13. ​​​​​Return to the Settings screen to choose which services you want to sync to your device
  14. Tap Accounts
  15. Select the Google icon
  16. Select your Miami email account from the Accounts list
  17. On the Sync screen, you can choose to keep the recommended sync settings or to manually select which services you want to sync
