Renew or update JMP license

Issue/Question 

  • My license for SAS JMP Pro has expired

Environment

  • Software & Apps

  • SAS License

Resolution

  1. Follow the appropriate link for your version of JMP
  2. Log in using your Miami credentials
    • A zipped file will be saved to your downloads folder
  3. Open your downloads folder and extract the JMP license from the zip file
  4. Run the application
    • PC user: Right-click on the JMP application and select Run as Administrator
    • Mac user: Run the program from Applications
      • If you receive an error, open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal
      • In the Terminal window, enter sudo “Applications/JMP Pro <version number here>.app/Contents/MacOS/JMP"
        • University-owned computer: If you receive an error when entering this message, contact IT Help at 513 529-7900 to request assistance
      • If prompted, enter your password and press Enter
        • If updating before the end of October during the grace period, go to File, click New, and click New Script
        • Enter Renew License() in the script window, then click Edit, and click Run Script
        • After a 60-day grace period, you will be prompted to renew your license immediately upon launching the application
  5. Click Open License
  6. Select the license file and click Choose/Open
  7. You should see a message confirming that your license has been renewed
