Connecting your PC to Wireless

Detail: Using the automated configuration tool

  1. Click the Download and Configure button on this page
  2. Double-click the downloaded file to launch the tool
  3. If a security warning appears, click Run
  • The tool will work in the background and will prompt you for any needed actions.
  • When configuration is complete, the message "Complete!" will appear.

Detail: Manual configuration

  1. Click Start, then Control Panel
  2. Click Network and Sharing Center
  3. Beneath Change your networking settings, click Set up a new connection or network
  4. Select Manually connect to a wireless network as the connection option and then click Next
  5. Enter the following information:
    • Network Name: MU-WIRELESS (case sensitive)
    • Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
    • Encryption Type: AES
    • Ensure that Start this connection automatically is selected
  6. Click Next and a confirmation message will state that you have successfully added MU-WIRELESS
  7. Click Change connection settings
  8. Click the Security tab
  9. Under Choose a network authentication method, click Settings
  10. Under Trusted Root Certificate Authorities, select the AddTrust External CA Root and Globalsign Root CA options
  11. Under Select Authentication Method, click Configure
  12. Deselect the box beside Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any)
  13. Click OK to close the EAP-MSCHAPv2 Properties window
  14. Click OK to close the Protected EAP Properties window
  15. Click Advanced Settings
  16. Select Specify authentication mode, then choose User authentication from the dropdown menu
  17. (Optional) Click Save credentials and enter your MUnet password
  18. Click OK to close the Advanced settings window
  19. Click OK to close the window
  20. Click Close to complete the process, your computer is now configured for MU-WIRELESS
