Purpose and Overview

The Emergency Communications service at Miami University provides timely and critical notifications to the university community during emergencies, campus closures, and other urgent situations. Through multiple communication channels, Miami ensures that students, faculty, and staff stay informed and prepared.

Alertus Exemptions
IT Services and divisional IT staff may use this form to request that Windows and Mac OS devices be exempted from Alertus desktop notifications. Alertus is a software package that is installed on university owned and managed machines that allows for full-screen broadcasts of emergency messaging.
Enroll in Nixle
The Oxford Police Department, Oxford Township Police Department and Butler County (OH) Sheriff's Office use Nixle to distribute important information regarding incidents in the community, including traffic and weather alerts affecting the Oxford, OH area.
Enroll or update in OmniAlert
Miami University has contracted with Omnilert (e2Campus) to provide emergency notification services to the university community via cell phone text messages and email.
