Find your UniqueID

Use the UniqueID formula

  • Your Miami UniqueID is generated using data from Human Resources or Registrar files. It generally consists of the first six characters of your last name, your first initial, and your middle initial
    • Example: If your name were Joan Q. Public, your Miami UniqueID would be publicjq
  • In some cases, your UniqueID will not follow the formula, if the same formula was already used to create a UniqueID for someone with a similar name. In that case, use one of the following methods to determine your UniqueID

Use the UniqueID Lookup tool

  1. Go to Miami's UniqueID Lookup Tool
  2. Use your Banner+ ID or Social Security number to search for your UniqueID
  3. If the UniqueID Lookup Tool doesn't accept your information, enter your default password using the last four digits of your Banner+ ID
  4. If you still need assistance or your information is incorrect, contact the appropriate office
    • Undergraduate students, contact One Stop at 513-529-0001
    • Graduate students, contact the Graduate School at 513-529-3734
    • Staff, contact the Department of Human Resources at 513-529-3131
    • Faculty, contact Academic Personnel at 513-529-6724
  5. Provide the following information:
    • Your name
    • Your Banner+ ID

Use the Miami Directory

  • If you have requested to be hidden in the directory, this option will not work for you
  • Incoming students are not listed in the directory until August 1
  1. Go to the Miami directory
  2. In the Name field, enter your name as given to the Registrar, Academic Personnel, or Department of Human Resources
  3. Select your name from the directory results
  4. Click the + icon next to your name to reveal your UniqueID line

Find your MUnet password

  • When you log in to your myMiami account for the first time, you must use your UniqueID and your default password
    • The default password for your account is your two-digit month of birth, two-digit day of birth, and the last four digits of Social Security number (SSN) (MMDDSSSS)
      • Example: Your birthday is April 1, and your SSN is 555-555-5555, so your default password would be 04015555
    • If you did not provide the University with an SSN, your default password is your two-digit month of birth, two-digit day of birth, and the last four digits of your Banner+ ID number (MMDDBBBB)
  • If your password is at the default value, you will be required to change it after logging in to a Miami web-based service
  • If you have forgotten your password, go to Miami's User Validation page to validate your user information and reset your password
