Cisco AnyConnect VPN
Software & Apps
Computing: Personally-owned Computer
Computing: University-owned Computer

Rationale
Miami has an Internet Firewall that restricts the functions that can be performed by computers that are NOT directly connected to Miami's network. VPN allows a computer that is accessing our network from off-campus to behave as if it is on-campus
Resolution
Click in the Start menu search text box and type
Cisco AnyConnect
Select
Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client
The
VPN: Connected to
field should be pre-populated with
muvpn.miamioh.edu
If not, enter
muvpn.miamioh.edu
into the connection field
When prompted, enter your UniqueID and MUnet password
Entering the password will generate a Duo Push to your installed Duo app on your first enrolled device —
if you don't have Duo Mobile installed on a device or you prefer a different authentication method
, a comma is required followed by your preferred Duo method. Using a comma after the password will allow the following options: push2, passphrase, sms, sms2
Example:
password,[Duo option]
