Rationale

  • Courtesy accounts, also known as hosted accounts, provide technology resources for qualified non-Miami University individuals
  • A Miami University faculty or staff member may request the renewal or reactivation of a courtesy account on behalf of an individual who is not currently affiliated with the university

Resolution

Visiting or former faculty or staff

  • Ask the department chair of your former department or your former supervisor to request the renewal or reactivation of your courtesy account

 

Vendor 

  • Ask your Miami faculty or staff sponsor to request the renewal or reactivation of your courtesy account

 

Authorized Requester

  1. Go to Miami's courtesy account request page
  2. Click Login
  3. In the left panel, click the option to Renew an Existing Courtesy Account
  4. Use the View only field to select the sponsored account you want to renew or reactivate
  5. Follow the prompts to renew or reactivate the sponsored account
    • If you need to have an existing account used and this is your first request, add the UniqueID to the Comments box
    • You will be notified when your request has been fulfilled
  6. Contact the courtesy account holder and inform them of their Miami UniqueID (username) and MUnet password

 

Notes

  • The requester is responsible for communicating the Miami UniqueID (username) and MUnet password to the courtesy account holder
  • The requester is responsible for assuring that the requested account will be used in a manner that complies with Miami's Responsible Use Policy
