Resolution

Update MATLAB license

  • If MATLAB was previously installed and activated, you only need to follow these instructions to update your license
    • You can also take advantage of MathWorks Software Activation, which will launch automatically when you run MATLAB for the first time
  1. To start MATLAB with elevated privileges, right-click the MATLAB icon and choose Run as Administrator
  2. Click Help/Licensing/Update Current License to display your current license number
  3. Click Update
  4. Confirm that you want to update your license

 

Install MATLAB on Windows 8 and newer

  1. Download MATLAB
  2. Double-click the downloaded MatLab ISO file
    • The file will automatically mount with a virtual drive letter that appears as a DVD; the ISO will open in a File Explorer window
  3. Right-click the file named install.bat and choose Run as Administrator
  4. After the installation, right-click the virtual drive letter inside the File Explorer window, and then choose Eject to un-mount the ISO

 

Install MATLAB on Windows 7 or older

  1. Download MATLAB
  2. Download and install the Virtual CD-ROM control panel  ​​​​​​
  3. Right-click the MATLAB ISO that you saved to your computer
  4. From the short-cut menu, choose Mount
  5. If prompted by AutoPlay, choose Open folder and view files
  6. Right-click the file named install.bat and choose Run as Administrator
  7. After the installation, right-click the virtual drive letter inside the File Explorer window, and then choose Eject to un-mount the ISO
