Review my list subscriptions / LISTSERV

Problem

  • I want to review the LISTSERV lists to which I am subscribed

Resolution

  1. Open your email application and create a new plain-text email message with no signature
  2. In the To: field, enter LISTSERV@listserv.MiamiOH.edu
  3. Leave the subject line blank
  4. In the main message field, enter query *
    • Be sure to leave a space before the asterisk
  5. Press Enter a couple of times to add several blank lines after the subscribe line
    • This step ensures that any additional information your email app may add to your message does not get confused with the LISTSERV command 
  6. Send your email message
  7. LISTSERV will process your request and return a summary of the lists to which you are subscribed, along with your options for each list

Notes

  • If you don't receive the expected results, check how your email application is configured
    • LISTSERV identifies you by the FROM or REPLY-TO address provided by your email application; if you are subscribed to the lists using an address different than the one you are using in your email application, LISTSERV will not identify you correctly
  • If you use multiple email addresses, you must repeat the process above using each email address
