Wireless Network / Remove or forget a wireless network on an iOS device

Objective

  • To provide instruction on removing a wireless network from the list of networks on an iPhone or iPad

Environment

  • 10139: Wi-Fi Network
  • Personal Device
    • iOS: iPhone or iPad

Cause

  • If you experience an issue when connecting to a wireless network on an iOS device, try forgetting the wireless network. This enables the computer to reset settings — usernames, passwords, or configurations — allowing the device to reconnect to the network 
  • If you are experiencing an issue with connecting to a wireless network on an iPhone or iPad, you may try forgetting the wireless network. This enables the device to reset settings — usernames, passwords, or configurations — allowing the device to reconnect to the network 

Resolution 

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Wi-Fi
  3. Tap the info button next to the network that you want to remove — the button looks like a lowercase i
  4. Tap Forget This Network
  5. When prompted, tap Forget to confirm the action

 

Notes

  • If these instructions are being used to forget and re-add the MU-Wireless network, follow these KB instructions to connect an iOS device to MU-Wireless
