Canvas / Import an export package into a course

Objective

• To provide a link to Canvas Guide instructions on importing a course into another Canvas course via a Canvas export file when:
  • You want to import course information in a Canvas .imscc export file into another Canvas course
• To provide scope of allowance for this action

Scope

• Instructor is permitted to use this procedure only when importing a Canvas course from another institution where you created content or have been given the content by permission of the author

• Course Import allows you, the instructor, to import course info from one to another of your courses

Import content

• Instructor is permitted to use this procedure only when importing a Canvas course from another institution where you created content or have been given the content by permission of the author
• Review the Canvas Guide article on how to import a Canvas course export package
• If the course is already in Canvas and the instructor is trying to import from a previous term or version of the course use this Canvas Guide article on how to copy content from another Canvas course using the Course Import tool

Share content

• If you want to share your course content with another faculty at Miami University, complete and submit your Canvas Site request form for a course master
  • Course master courses can be shared with any faculty member
    • Include all the same content
    • Do not have student enrollments or work
