Import an export package into a course / Canvas

Problem

• How do I import a Canvas export (IMSCC ​​​​​) file into another Canvas course?
• Why am I unable to import a Canvas export (IMSCC ​​​​​) file into another Canvas course?

Resolution

• Review the Canvas Guide article on how to import a Canvas course export package. Your course export package file size must be smaller than the quota for your course. See the Canvas file storage limitations KB article for more information 
  • If you are trying to import or copy your content from a previous term or share your content with a colleague, refer to the import one course into another KB article
    • If the course package is too large for import, submit a Canvas Solutions Request. Miami Online may be able to do a direct course copy to avoid import limits. Be sure to include the  specific Miami course/term to be copied and the destination course/term
  • To import only quiz exports, refer to the import or export quiz content KB article
