ClassTech: Connect a laptop with cables
Objective
To provide instruction on using cables to connect a laptop to a classroom technology package

Procedure
Locate the cable connectors under the control panel
Connect your device with either HDMI (preferred) or VGA—do NOT connect both at the same time
Note for VGA only:
For sound, connect the attached 3.5 mm audio cable to your device headphone port
With the projection system on, locate and press
Laptop
on the control panel
On the control panel, press
15 Pin VGA
or
HDMI
, according to the type of cable you plugged into your device.
Troubleshooting: Blank Screen or No Signal
Toggle Device Output:
Windows: Press
+ P
on your keyboard, and then select
Duplicate
Mac: Open
System Preferences
, choose
Displays
, then click
Detect Displays
Restart Device: Restart your laptop or tablet with the display cable still connected.
Toggle Picture Mute: Press the
PICTURE MUTE
button on the control panel
Notes
This room includes both VGA and HDMI connectors
Certain laptops or tablets may require adapters, which are not provided
Power-down the projection system when you are finished using the equipment
