ClassTech / Unable to turn on computer that connects to the projector

Objective

  • To provide instructions on powering up the classroom computer 

Environment

  • Classroom Technology
  • Resident PC

Resolution

  1. Verify that the computer's power cable is plugged in
  2. If the power button is flashing, press the power button to turn the computer on
  3. If this does not resolve the issue, contact IT Help by phone at 513-529-7900 or by live chat at MiamiOH.edu/ITChat for assistance
  4. Provide the following information:
    • Make and model of computer
    • Location of computer, including building name and room number
    • Serial number (Mac) or service tag (Dell)

 

Notes

  • Always test technology and media before attempting to use it during a live class
  • Log off or restart the resident PC when you have finished using the equipment — do not shut down
  • If you need immediate help, locate the phone in the room, dial 9-7900, and then press 9
