Canvas / Opt-in to Inclusive Access textbook program

Objective

  • To provide information about how faculty can opt in and opt out of the Inclusive Access textbook program at Miami University

Instructions 

  1. Log in to the Textbook Portal via the Miami login option
  2. Choose the course for which you would like to submit an adoption
  3. Under Course Adoption Details, select Inclusive Access content required for this course
  4. Next, select Add Adoption or view and copy previous adoptions by selecting the View Adoption History button
  5. Enter the adoption information
  6. Update the Importance field to Inclusive Access
  7. Select Save
  8. After submission, the adoption will be reviewed by the eCampus Inclusive Access team. They will contact you should they have any questions or need additional information

 

Notes

  • By default, all courses are automatically opted out of this program
  • The Inclusive Access Program is recommended for courses that:
    • Utilize digital courseware
    • Utilize or are willing to utilize a digital eBook
    • Often have students show up to the first day of class without the required materials
    • Often have students run into issues with access codes that they’ve purchased online
  • If your textbook is linked to Courseware (like Cengage, Macmillan, McGraw-Hill, Norton, Pearson, or WileyPLUS) additional steps are needed to connect your textbook to that courseware
  • Students have 14 days from the start date of class to:
