Canvas / Opt-out, opt-in to the Inclusive Access textbook program

  • To provide information on a student's option to opt-out of or opt-in to the Inclusive Access textbook program at Miami University

Instructions 

To opt out, a student should:

  1. Navigate to the Canvas course and select Modules from Course Navigation (left-side menu)
  2. Locate the Course Materials module of your Canvas course and select the Course Materials hyperlink (the only item in the module)
  3. On the course textbook page, select the Want to opt-out? option
  4. A refund will be applied to the student’s account

 

To opt in again, a student should:

  1. Navigate to the Canvas course and select Modules from Course Navigation (left-side menu)
  2. Locate the Course Materials module of your Canvas course and select the Course Materials hyperlink (the only item in the module)
  3. On the course textbook page, select the Opt-In option

 

Notes

  • If a course participates in the Inclusive Access Textbook program, all students are automatically opted in
  • Students have 14 days from the start date of class to opt-out of or opt back in to the Inclusive Access textbook program
  • If you have questions about or encounter issues with the Course Materials module and page or the Inclusive Access program, contact IASupport@ecampus.com
    • Miami Online does not manage this program or its interaction with Canvas
