Request

• I want to reactivate an inactive courtesy account
• I want to reactivate an expired courtesy account
• I want to renew a courtesy account for a former faculty or staff member
• I want to reactivate a courtesy account for a vendor
• I want to renew my courtesy account for another year

Rationale

• Courtesy accounts, also known as hosted accounts, provide technology resources for qualified non-Miami University individuals
• A Miami University faculty or staff member may request the renewal or reactivation of a courtesy account on behalf of an individual who is not currently affiliated with the university

Resolution

If you are visiting or former faculty or staff

• Ask the department chair of your former department or your former supervisor to request the renewal or reactivation of your courtesy account

 

If you are a vendor 

• Ask your Miami faculty or staff sponsor to request the renewal or reactivation of your courtesy account

 

If you are an authorized requester

If you have sponsored this account in the past

1. Navigate to the IAM Portal Courtesy Profile Module
2. In the left panel, click Sponsor Dashboard
3. The user should appear under Profiles Needing Attention
   • Note: They may instead appear under Upcoming or Recent Actions if their renewal date is more than 30 days in the future
4. Select Renew or Reactivate next to the appropriate user
5. Follow the prompts to renew or reactivate the sponsored account
   • You will be notified when your request has been fulfilled, or if more information is needed
6. The courtesy account holder will be notified via email

 

If you have not previously sponsored this account

1. Navigate to the IAM Portal Courtesy Profile Module
2. Select Sponsor Dashboard
3. Select All Sponsored Profiles
4. Use the search bar to find the profile that you would like to renew
5. Identify the profile that needs to be renewed
6. Select Renew
7. Enter the following: 
   •  Extension Type* 
   •  Reason for Renewal* 
   •  Additional Details* 
   • Comments
   • Departments
8. Select Submit Renewal Request

• The requester is responsible for assuring that the requested account will be used in a manner that complies with Miami's Responsible Use Policy
