For the best gaming experience, we recommend using a wired connection. Connect your device to the Ethernet port located on the bottom of the Cisco device mounted along the wall in your room. Refer to the guide below for setup instructions:

  1. Check to make sure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the Xbox and the Ethernet port
    • On a Cisco AP9105AXW, instruct the student to connect the Ethernet cable in the port indicated in the image above
  2. In network settings, verify that DNS is set to auto
  3. Log in to Miami's ResNET Wired Gaming Device Registration page using your UniqueID and MUnet password
    1. Click Add
    2. Enter the name of the device or you want to register
      • Do not include any special characters in the name. The page will return an error if there is a special character in the name or description
    3. Enter the device MAC address for Device ID
      • You should use the wired or Ethernet MAC to register your device. (Do not use wireless)
  4. Verify that the Ethernet cable is able to maintain a stable connection by testing it on your computer
    • If it is not able to maintain a stable connection on your computer, the Ethernet cable may be faulty
  5. Follow this link to run a network connection test on the Xbox
  6. Follow any instructions provided by the results of your network connection test
