Why would you need to do this?
If you are working on a page in Cascade, and it is in Draft status, it could inadvertently be published by another web editor. Often, it is not easily recognized that a page is in draft status and either not published or only published to Test. Another web editor may need to publish an entire folder and not realize that there is a test page that should not be published live.
How to set a page to not be published
- While in the page, select the Edit button

- In the Configure Tab, Uncheck both the 'Include when Indexing' and the 'Include when Publishing' boxes

- Select Preview Draft and then Submit to finalize the changes
- If you want to test that it worked correctly, try to Publish. If it is set as Unpublishable, you will get the following message:

How to set a folder not to be published
This follows a similar process of setting a page not to be published and is useful if there are contents within a folder that are not to be published.

While at the folder level, select the Edit button

In the Properties Tab, uncheck both the 'Include when Indexing' and the 'Include when Publishing' boxes

Choose Submit

If you try to Publish any page within the Folder that you set not to publish, you will get this error:
