What can I expect?

  • Support Tier: Tier 1 - Best Effort: While approved for use there is no institutional support for the application. IT Help would make an effort to assist using general technical knowledge. If unable to do so, the user would need to resolve the issue on their own or contact a commercial vendor for assistance.

  • Acquisition Model: Direct Download: Software is downloaded to a local computer and installed to run from that specific device.

  • Licensing Model: Registered User License: The license is included with online registration.

  • Authentication Model: Miami Single-Sign-On (SSO): Uses Miami's identify and access management to authenticate user as a current student or instructor.

Who may use it?

Faculty, staff, and students may install SAS JMP on their personally owned computers.

How do I get started?

Mac

  1. Download and install JMP Pro 15 (macOS) or JMP Pro 17 (macOS) 
    • Enter your Miami credentials, if prompted, to begin the download
    • The installer will be saved to your Downloads folder
    • Do not power off, put to sleep, or disconnect from the network until the download completes
  2. Navigate to the location your web browser downloaded the file, normally the Downloads folder
    • For JMP Pro 15
      1. Double Click the downloaded file MU-SAS_JMP_Pro_15.2_Student.dmg to open the DMG file
      2. Double Click the JMP Pro 15.1 Install.pkg file to install the application, follow all default prompts
      3. Double Click the JMP Pro 15.2.1 Update.pkg file to upgrade SAS JMP Pro 15.1 to 15.2.1, follow all default prompts
      4. Press and hold the control key and click the SAS_JMP_Pro_15.2.1_License-SY_23-24.pkg file, select open to license SAS JMP Pro 15, follow all default prompts
        • Failure to complete this step will leave the software unlicensed and in a trial mode
    • For JMP Pro 17
      1. Double Click the downloaded file MU-SAS_JMP_Pro_17.dmg to open the DMG file
      2. Double Click the JMP Pro 17 Install.pkg file to install the application, follow all default prompts
      3. Press and hold the control key and click the SAS_JMP_Pro_17_License-SY_23-24.pkg file, select open to license SAS JMP Pro 17, follow all default prompts
        • Failure to complete this step will leave the software unlicensed and in a trial mode

Windows

  1. Download and install JMP Pro 15 (Windows) or JMP Pro 16 (Windows) or JMP Pro 17 (Windows)
    • Enter your Miami credentials, if prompted, to begin the download
    • The installer will be saved to your Downloads folder
    • Do not power off, put to sleep, or disconnect from the network until the download completes
  2. To run the installer, click the downloaded file, which you'll find displayed at the bottom of your browser window
    • Remain connected to the Internet during the install
  3. Files will first be extracted, and then the installer will open in a status window and begin
    • The status window will close when the install is complete
  4. Click Start, and then enter JMP to locate and start the application
