What can I expect?

• Support Tier: Tier 1 - Best Effort: While approved for use there is no institutional support for the application. IT Help would make an effort to assist using general technical knowledge. If unable to do so, the user would need to resolve the issue on their own or contact a commercial vendor for assistance.

• Acquisition Model: Direct Download: Software is downloaded to a local computer and installed to run from that specific device.

• Licensing Model: Registered User License: The license is included with online registration.

• Authentication Model: Miami Single-Sign-On (SSO): Uses Miami's identify and access management to authenticate user as a current student or instructor.

Who may use it?

Faculty, staff, and students may install SAS JMP on their personally owned computers.  

Please note, you only need to fill out this form if you are not already authorized to use this software. Please check your Miami email for a JMP 18 access email before filling out the form as the majority of students were authorized prior to semester start.

How do I get started?

For JMP 18 users (Mac/Windows): Students in the classes listed below are typically given access prior to semester start. Please check your email for JMP 18 access prior to filling out the authorization form.

Mac

1. Download and install JMP Pro 17 (macOS), or JMP Pro 18 (macOS) 
   • Enter your Miami credentials, if prompted, to begin the download
   • The installer will be saved to your Downloads folder
   • Do not power off, put to sleep, or disconnect from the network until the download completes
2. Navigate to the location your web browser downloaded the file, normally the Downloads folder
   • For JMP Pro 17
     1. Double Click the downloaded file MU-SAS_JMP_Pro_17.dmg to open the DMG file
     2. Double Click the JMP Pro 17.pkg file to install the application, follow all default prompts
     3. Press and hold the control key and click the SAS_JMP_Pro_17_License-SY_24-25.pkg file, select open to license SAS JMP Pro 17, follow all default prompts
        • Failure to complete this step will leave the software unlicensed and in a trial mode
   • For JMP Pro 18 
     1. Double Click the downloaded file MU-SAS_JMP_Pro_18_Student.pkg to open the PKG file
     2. Click continue/accept on all prompts as they appear
     3. Once it is installed, open the app and enter your Miami email address to be authorized.

If you are not authorized as a JMP 18 user, please click the "Request JMP Pro 18 License" button and complete the form to begin the authorization process.

Windows

1. Download and install JMP Pro 17 (Windows), or JMP Pro 18 (Windows)
   • Enter your Miami credentials, if prompted, to begin the download
   • The installer will be saved to your Downloads folder
   • Do not power off, put to sleep, or disconnect from the network until the download completes
2. To run the installer, click the downloaded file, which you'll find displayed at the bottom of your browser window
   • Remain connected to the Internet during the install
3. Files will first be extracted, and then the installer will open in a status window and begin
   • The status window will close when the install is complete
4. Click Start, and then enter JMP to locate and start the application
5. For JMP 18 you will need to enter your Miami Address to be authorized post install.

If you are not authorized as a JMP 18 user, please click the "Request JMP Pro 18 License" button and complete the form to begin the authorization process.
