MUnet Password Utilities / Manage your password and UniqueID

We’ve changed our look! (For this article, anyway.)

Read carefully — we’ve changed the way you manage your password, too.

Forgot your MUnet password?

1. Navigate to MUnet Password Utilities (RI) and enter your username (UniqueID)
2. Select Next button
3. Click the Forgot MUnet Password? link
   • Do not see the "Forgot MUnet Password" link or Unable to perform self-service? Check here for assistance OR complete and submit your password reset request form
   • Unable to perform self-service? Check here for assistance OR complete and submit your password reset request form
   • If a mobile phone number is configured for your account, you can also select Send an SMS Code
4. Check your recovery email address or your mobile phone for a one-time access code
5. On the Email Authentication page, enter the one-time code 
   • If you used SMS, enter the code on the Password Recovery: SMS page
6. Click the Next button
7. On the Update Password page, change your MUnet password following Standard: Passwords
   • 16-255 characters
   • Minimum of one uppercase letter
   • Minimum of one lowercase letter
8. Click the Next button
9. Confirm your new password
10. Your password has been updated successfully! Click the Next button

Forgot your username?

1. Navigate to MUnet Password Utilities (RI)
2. Click the Forgot Username (UniqueID)? link
3. Enter the email address or mobile phone number you want to use to receive your username (UniqueID)
   • US phone number format: +1[areacode][number]
   • US phone number format: [area code][number]
   • International phone number format: +[countrycode][areacode][number]
4. Click the Send button
5. Open your email or phone to receive the reminder of your username (UniqueID)
   • If you have also forgotten your password, see Forgot your MUnet password?
6. Continue your log in with your recovered username (UniqueID)

Change your password (MUnet accounts and entity accounts)

1. Navigate to MUnet Password Utilities (RI)
2. Enter your UniqueID and select Next
3. Enter your Password and select Next
   • Complete DUO process if necessary
4. In upper-right corner of the screen, click your profile name and select Change Password from the drop-down 
5. Enter your current password
6. Change your MUnet password following Standard: Passwords
   • 16-255 characters
   • Minimum of one uppercase letter
   • Minimum of one lowercase letter
7. Click the Save button

Change your recovery options

1. Navigate to MUnet Password Utilities (RI)
2. Enter your UniqueID and select Next
3. Enter your Password and select Next
   • Complete DUO process if necessary
4. In upper-right corner of the screen, click your profile name and select Profile Settings from the drop-down 
5. Click the Edit Profile button
6. Update your personal email address and/or your mobile phone number
7. Click the Save button

Forgot your Family/Parent Account password?

1. Navigate to MUnet Password Utilities (RI) and enter your username (the email address used to sign up for account)
2. Click the Next button
3. Click the Forgot MUnet Password? link
   • Do not see the Forgot MUnet Password link? 
     • ​​​If this is the first time you are accessing your account, ​you will need to use the claim code to claim your account from your invitation email.
       • Please search your email account including the spam folder for an email from the @miamioh.edu domain and follow the claim instructions
     • Unable to perform self-service? Check here for assistance OR complete and submit your password reset request form
   • If a mobile phone number is configured for your account, you can also select Send an SMS Code 
4. Check your email address or your mobile phone for a one-time access code 
5. On the Email Authentication page, enter the one-time code 
   • If you used SMS, enter the code on the Password Recovery: SMS page
6. Click the Next button
7. On the Update Password page, change your MUnet password following Standard: Passwords
   • 16-255 characters
   • Minimum of one uppercase letter
   • Minimum of one lowercase letter
8. Click the Next button
9. Confirm your new password
10. Your password has been updated successfully! Click the Next button

Forgot your Community Account password?

1. Navigate to MUnet Password Utilities (RI) and enter your username (first initial, surname, and numerical digit. Ex: jdoe2)
2. Click the Next button
3. Click the Forgot MUnet Password? link
   • Unable to perform self-service? Check here for assistance OR complete and submit your password reset request form
   • If a mobile phone number is configured for your account, you can also select Send an SMS Code 
4. Check your email address or your mobile phone for a one-time access code 
5. On the Email Authentication page, enter the one-time code 
   • If you used SMS, enter the code on the Password Recovery: SMS page
6. Click the Next button
7. On the Update Password page, change your MUnet password following Standard: Passwords
   • 16-255 characters
   • Minimum of one uppercase letter
   • Minimum of one lowercase letter
8. Click the Next button
9. Confirm your new password
10. Your password has been updated successfully! Click the Next button
