Google Account / Turn off your view history

Objective

  • To provide instruction on changing your privacy settings in Google apps, so that your view history is not visible

Environment

Rationale

  • If you don’t want your view history to appear in the Activity Dashboard, you can change your privacy settings and turn off view history for all files

Resolution 

  1. On your computer, navigate to https://myaccount.google.com/ and sign if needed suing your Miami credentials
    • If you are not signed in, click the Go to Google Account button to sign in
    • Changes made to your Google Activity Dashboard settings from your computer will also cover your Android and iOS devices 
  2. On the left hand side, click Data & personalization
  3. Under Activity Controls, click the Manage your activity controls link
  4. Toggle the desired switches for Web & App ActivityLocation History, and YouTube History as desired
