Problem

Only graded assignments, graded discussions, graded quizzes, and graded surveys that have been created and published in the Canvas course can be awarded grades in the Gradebook; therefore, to create an entry for grading in the Gradebook, you must create a graded assignment, discussion, quiz, or survey in your course

You can modify or add details to an assignment, including selecting the submission type, by editing the assignment. You may use the "No Submission" or "On Paper" submission types for in-class assignments that will be graded, but not submitted, in Canvas
