Apogee Stream2 IPTV / Use a Roku remote

Objective

  • To provide suggestions for troubleshooting a non-functioning Roku remote

Environment

  • 1017169: Apogee Stream2 IPTV
  • Personally Owned Device
    • Roku

Resolution

  • Miami University IT Services does not provide or install batteries in Roku remotes
    • If a remote is requested for a resident hall, please contact the applicable Resident Director for assistance
  • This Roku support article will tell you what to do when you have problems with your remote
  • After replacing a remote or replacing remote batteries, remotes must be paired with the Roku device
    1. Locate a small black button near the batteries
    2. Press the button until it lights up and release
    3. Test the remote, the remote should now be paired with the Roku  
      • It may not be necessary to access, remove, or unplug the Roku
