Objective

  • To provide instruction on dialing a local number on an office phone
  • To provide instruction on dialing a long-distance number on an office phone
  • To provide instruction on dialing a toll free  number from an office phone

Resolution

  • Dial the full 10-digit phone number for all calls outside of the University, including those within the same area code
    • Example: To call another number within the 513 area code from a Miami phone, dial 8-8-513-[seven-digit telephone number]
  • Dial three digits to reach 711 relay services or 911 emergency services. Any other services can also still be reached by dialing their three-digit codes
  • To make a long-distance or toll-free call, dial 8-1-[three-digit area/toll-free code]-[seven-digit telephone number]
