University Computer / Incorrect username or password error

Objective

  • To resolve the error message, Username or password is incorrect

Environment

  • UniqueID and Passwords
  • University-owned Computer

Resolution

  1. Make sure to select the correct username when you log in
  2. Make sure to use the correct MUnet password when you log in
    • If you have changed your password, try the old password
    • If this works, restart your computer while connected to Ethernet to update the password with your new one automatically
  3. Make sure that your caps lock key is not activated
  4. Restart the computer

  6. Provide the following information:
    • Type of computer you are using
    • Error message you received
    • Your contact phone number
