ClassTech / Teaching station touch panel is frozen

Objective

  • To provide troubleshooting guidance for the Crestron teaching station when:
    • The touch screen on on the classroom teaching station is frozen
    • Crestron panel keeps locking up and becomes unresponsive
    • The Crestron control pad is not working (no power/information/choices showing on the touch screen)

Resolution

Touch panel with buttons 

  1. Unplug the teacher station from the electrical outlet on the wall
  2. Wait approximately 10 seconds and plug back in
  3. Watch the touch panel and do not press any buttons until the power down cycle completes
  4. Once the system reboots press system power to begin (This could take 5 minutes for the switch to reboot.)
  5. Make sure the teacher station PC has also been restarted

 

Touch panel no buttons

  1. Unplug the teacher station from the electrical outlet on the wall
  2. Wait approximately 10 seconds and plug back in
  3. Look in the teacher station cabinet and locate the component that has the Crestron logo
  4. The power light on the left hand side of the Crestron controller MUST be on before the system will operate
  5. Press system power to begin
  6. Make sure the teacher station PC has also been restarted

    • Location of the classroom, including building name and room number
    • Is class in session?
