Objective
To provide instruction on configuring MailChimp to send email messages using miamioh.edu FROM addresses in a DMARC compliant way

Miami University faculty, staff, or students using MailChimp to send email messages
Scope
Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance (DMARC) is being implemented by IT Services to better protect the MiamiOH.edu domain from unauthorized use by phishers and spoofers, thereby protecting Miami’s users and brand. DMARC verification uses information in email headers to verify a sender's authenticity
Environment
MailChimp
Instructions
Sign into your
MailChimp account
In the top right click on your profile picture and select
Profile
Navigate to the
Domains
tab
Click
Start Authentication
Ignore further directions from the console and "X" out of the configuration wizard
Verify that it now says "Authenticated" next to the domain name
Messages sent through MailChimp should now be sent in a DMARC compliant way. To test, send a message to yourself through MailChimp and follow the
steps outlined here
to confirm the message is passing DMARC checks
