• To provide Miami University students with a guide to Ally, a tool that allows you to create alternative formats for course documents in Canvas

Guidelines

Ally creates alternative formats for content items in Canvas. Download the alternative formats anywhere you see Ally's alternative formats download icon. You can download as many formats as you want.

1. Sign in to your course and navigate to a document.
2. Look for the ADownload Alternative Formats icon at the end of the document name and download a format that suits your learning needs

Alternative formats currently available include: 

• HTML (For viewing in the browser and on mobile devices)
• ePub (For reading as an e-book on an iPad and other e-book readers
• Electronic Braille (BRF version for consumption on electronic braille displays)
• Audio (MP3 version for listening)
• BeeLIne Reader (Enhanced version for easier and faster on-screen reading)
• Immersive Reader (Aid reading comprehension and grammar skills. Internet required)
