Objective
To provide an onboarding guide for training new Solution Delivery development team employees
To introduce and encourage familiarity with the terminology, communication, and production channels, and processes of the Miami University and MUIT (Miami University IT Services) Team environments
To deliver training on MUIT tools, applications, and processes; review of important Team documentation
To introduce the extended MUIT Team!

Guide
First Week
Purpose: Become familiar with the Team and gain an understanding of the environment
Add the new Team member to the proper Slack channel
Add the Team member to the Team group (through Directory-Accounts)
Verify that the Team member has access to our respective project boards in Jira
Load the necessary software and tools required to work on apps onto the Team member's computer
Share the following:
Procedure: Onboarding / Set up your computer as an application developer
Verify that the Team member has access to our Team folder
Show the Team member how to set up and use employee and Team calendars
Demonstrate how to share the calendar and send calendar invitations
Explain our Team activity calendars
Share knowledge about current Team projects
First Month
Get to know the extended Team!
Introduce the Team member to our co-workers on other teams (SolDel, Enterprise Operations, MUAccess, Business Administration)
Deliver training on or review the following Miami tools, applications, and processes:
Laravel Framework
Ellucian Banner
Configuration and Authorization Management (CAM)
TeamDynamix (TDD or TDX) (TeamDynamix)
Miami WebServices best practices
Deployment overview
Puppet, Git, ELK, and Docker
1Password sharing, if applicable
Based on Team member's learning styles and previous experience
Frequently used tables (Banner (PROD/TEST/DEV), Oracle Production, MARS, MariaDB Cluster)
