ClassTech / Classroom audio is not working

Issue

  • When playing a DVD, the audio doesn't work from the teacher's workstation
  • The audio is not working in the classroom
  • The sound quality in the classroom is extremely poor
  • I hear sounds come from the speakers when no audio is playing
  • The audio in this room is fuzzy and hard to hear

Environment

  • Classroom Technology
  • Classroom Computer
  • DVD Player

Resolution

  1. Confirm that audio is not muted on the touch panel
  2. Confirm that the speakers are not muted on the instructor's computer
  3. Confirm that the audio on the video player (e.g. YouTube/VLC) is not muted or turned down
  4. Inside the cabinet, make sure the mute button is not engaged and try increasing the volume on the Crestron amp
  5. Change the input on the Crestron panel to a different source, and then back again
  6. Shut down the teachers station, and then restart
