Add multiple users to a Google Docs collaboration in Canvas

Issue/Question

  • When I add users to a collaboration in Canvas, only ten are added
  • Add multiple Canvas users to a Google Drive collaboration

Environment

  • 10185: Canvas
  • 10259: Google Drive
  • Google Apps
    • Google Docs

Cause

  • A Google Docs collaboration in Canvas allows you to add up to 50 users per collaboration; and all users can view and edit a document at the same time

Resolution

  • Make sure your students have linked their Miami Google account with Canvas
  • If not, ask your students to follow these instructions:
  1. Log in to Miami's Canvas
  2. Select Account in the upper-left
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select Google Drive from Other Services
  5. Follow prompts to register
