Cisco Jabber / Install and configure on a macOS computer

Objective

• To provide instruction on installing and configuring the Cisco Jabber app on a macOS computer

Scope

• Review the list of supported operating systems and hardware requirements for use on a Mac

Environment

• 440389: Jabber
  • Cisco Jabber
• macOS computer

Resolution 

1. Download the Cisco Jabber application for Mac 
2. Open the .pkg file that is downloaded
3. In the installer, click Continue
4. Click Continue
5. Click Agree
6. Click Install
7. Click Close
8. Click Move to Trash if prompted
9. Open Cisco Jabber from your applications list
10. Enter your Miami email address and select Continue
    • You may get prompted with a Certificate Not Valid message. Click continue
11. Sign in using your UniqueID and your MUnet password and click Sign In
    • If you are off campus and NOT on VPN, you will need to use your UniqueID in email format. Ex: user@miamioh.edu
    • You may get prompted with a Certificate Not Valid message. Click Continue 
12. You may receive a message to allow access for screen sharing. Follow the information in the prompt to allow screen sharing
    • Jabber needs permission from you to enable screen sharing and capture. To update your security settings, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Screen Recording
